Creating Your Life

What does “creating your life” mean to you?

When I first heard a phrase along those lines, I was angry. I felt like the person who mentioned it was saying everything bad that had happened in my life was my fault. Which was complete crap. I don’t control other people, and I definitely didn’t want some of the things that were done to me or that had happened to me.

But when I thought about it, I realized that wasn’t really what he meant. Or at least I chose not to take it that way.

We do have power in our lives. But we aren’t always aware of it. Some of us have been taught that we have no power at all. Even if we’re aware that we have some power, we don’t necessarily know how much.

Personally, I’ve been afraid of having power. Too many people in my life have abused their power, and the last thing I want is to be like them. But there’s a big difference between having power over your life and having power over other people.

If we aren’t aware that we have the power to create our lives the way we want them, or we’re afraid of having power, we aren’t creating anything. That’s my take on it. I didn’t create the things that happened to me in the past because I wasn’t aware I *could* create anything.

But now I know, and now I consciously work to create the best life I can live. Sometimes everything goes exactly as I want, and sometimes things go differently, but either way, I’m now using my creative power over my life.

How are you using your creative power?
